Ross Cooney was my architectural mentor while in Boulder, Colorado, and particularly he taught me a range of skills in residential design, composition, and construction. In 2007, Ross decided to design and build a series of woodsy yet contemporary homes in a new development near a golf course in Granby, Colorado. These elegant yet rustic homes had vaulted ceilings, tall fireplaces with timber mantles, and covered entries.
My role in the process was to create hand-rendered plans, which I produced in watercolor. Also, I painted a color study for one of the homes. While visiting the site, I photographed the homes while under construction and built a website to facilitate their sale.
