This home in Beachwood is a ranch style single-story single-family residence, with some colonial treatment at windows and gable ends. The owners desired an addition to accommodate family and guests who may visit the home from overseas.   As requested by the Cleveland Restoration Society, we designed the addition to integrate with the existing design aesthetic

We composed the addition in the form of a second story atop a portion of the existing, and a two-story mass that projected north into the backyard.  The most delightful feature of the addition was the second story covered porch overlooking a garden and terrace to the east  Ultimately, we strove to make the new space welcoming and accommodating for guests, and comfortable in the setting.
