We created this design for owners of a simple white bungalow with one- and one-half stories in the West Park neighborhood, near Kamm’s Corners. The original home was of 1928 construction, 900 square feet, with 2 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. The owner wished to expand the house considerably, doubling its size by “popping the top,” and even adding to the existing footprint.
We also designed a complete renovation to the existing main level, with a naturalistic / organic mode. To subtly contrast with the existing bungalow home structure, we brought in gentle vaults at the front and back entry, and at the side dormers.
